Me parrot is a pretty bird
he chats to me all day.
But suddenly on Wednesday
he upped and flew away.
I searched high and low,
I even called his name.
I’m going to miss that bird,
it really is a shame.
The house is now empty
without his happy chat.
You know he’s even missed
by Sooty the black cat.
But imagine me surprise,
when a postcard I receive.
Me Parrot’s in Ibiza
well, would you believe!
He’s off south for Winter
and having a bit of a fling.
He’s says not to worry,
he’ll be back next Spring.
